NFL 2022 MVP Hour: Patrick Mahomes goes off the field, Joe Burrow hits Jalen at no. 2

There are just two weeks left in the 2022 NFL regular season, so we’re back with the second-to-last edition of the MVP Watch Poll.

As usual, our panel of 10 voters each entered the top five names in the first MVP polls, and those polls were then weighted by a weighted point system to determine the leader. A first-place vote is worth five points, a second-place vote is worth four points, a third-place vote is worth three, a fourth-place vote is worth two, and a fifth-place vote is worth one vote.

After all that notebooking was done, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes continued to climb the leaderboard and open up a huge advantage on the field. Mahomes received 8 of 10 first-place votes this week, although surprisingly, the other two votes were for third place, not second place. Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow jumps and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen gets hurt. 2 place on this week’s leaderboard, thanks to Hearts dropping out of three polls altogether and Buro getting second and third place votes this time.

Without further ado, let’s move on to the voting interval.

Selection Panel: Jonathan Jones, Ryan Wilson, John Brecht, Jared Dubin, Cody Benjamin, Jordan Dajani, Josh Edwards, Tyler Sullivan, Jeff Kerr, Chris Trapasso.

So who will win?

Mahomes is a huge betting favorite at Caesars Sportsbook after his impressive performance against the Seahawks and the Eagles’ injury-free demolition of the Cowboys. If Kansas City falters in the final two weeks of the regular season, Burrow or Allen may be the best to take the award out of Mahomes’ hands. The Bengals and Bills play next Monday night, and a performance by either player could put them in the minds of voters.
