Aafter the various controversieshe’s been embroiled in over the past few weeks, Kanye West is nowhere to be found. Or at least he’s not appearing to his former business manager, Thomas St. John, who has been trying to serve him with legal documents.
st. John told a court hearing that he hasn’t been able to find the rapper for weeks and is suing him for breaking the contract. The businessman claims Kanye had agreed to pay him a monthly retainer, but Since the two had an “aggressive” meeting, West stopped paying him.
st. John was CFO of a company Ye owned
Before things between the two went south, the two had a friendship and good working relationship, so much so that West asked him to be the CFO of Donda, one of his businesses, with which St. John would collect a monthly retainer of $300,000.
St. John needed a guarantee that West would not abruptly abandon the business relationship, plus the financial costs and risks associated with committing to him as a client. But Mr. st. John offered to settle for at least an 18-month contract,” states the lawsuit, which could not be served on Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband.
West’s financial problems worsen
This lawsuit is one more financial problem facing Kanye, who for months now has seen his business and income drop dramatically after he publicly issued anti-Semitic and aggressive comments.
Other problems he has are the child support he has to pay Kardashian following their divorce, in addition to the problems he has in financing some repairs to his Malibu home.
Kanye West’s fortune has been diminished from $6.6 billion to about $400 million after breaking off relationships with companies such as GAP and Adidas.
