Busy Philipps Celebrates Michelle Williams’ Oscar Nomination

Busy Phillips is honoring her best friend, Michelle Williams, after she received her fifth Academy Award nomination today, Jan. 24!

The actress, 43, took to her Instagram to congratulate the 42-year-old after receiving her newest Oscar nomination. In the post, Philipps shared a photo of Williams in her adolescence, where she donned gray pants and a black tank top with disheveled hair as she gave a blank stare into the camera.

“BRB- I’m just gonna go back in time and tell this kid that she’s going to have 5 OSCAR NOMINATIONS in the next 20 years. 😭 And a BEAUTIFUL family. And be surrounded by love. (And GORGEOUS CLOTHES),” Phillips Written in the caption.

Williams was nominated for Best Actress at the upcoming 95th Academy Awards for her performance in the Fabelmans, where she portrays a fictional version of Steven Spielberg’s mother in the director’s film, which was released in Nov. 2022.

The actress is up against five other nominees in the category, including Cate Blanchett (Tar), Ana de Armas (Blonde), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie), and Michelle Yeoh (Everywhere all at once).

Williams’ Oscar nomination comes six years after she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for manchester by the sea, which premiered in 2016. Her previous nominations also include Best Actress for My Week with Marylin in 2012, BlueValentine in 2011, and Best Supporting Actress in 2006 for Brokeback Mountain.
